Who said Valentine’s day was the one special day to tell people you love them? And who limited it to romantic love?
Some people boycott Valentine’s day by refusing to celebrate it, but why limit the love?! I want to extend Valentine’s day to every day of February! Love is my ‘theme’ for February.
I am trying to be more intentional in life; reflecting on each month and deciding on specific things I want to focus on during the next month. Before I remembered Valentine’s day was in February I decided one of my goals for the month was to bless others more. Then I realised that it would coincide quite nicely with the ‘holiday’ which can ironically often end in people feeling unloved.
I have decided to commit the whole month of February to sharing love with people in my life in whatever ways I can. Obviously, we should always be showing love but I have decided to be particularly intentional about it this month.
It all starts with God. God is love and the source of all love. As Christians we are called to love God and love others… it’s essential, not an optional extra. I’m praying God reveals more of his love to me this month. I’m praying that God fills me with more of his love so I can pass it on to others.
